Mathieu Carignan 2019

$30.00

100% Carignan from Mendocino County, Testa Vineyard. 15% ABV

The Carignan grapes for this wine were grown in the organic, dry-farmed Testa Vineyard near Hopland, Mendocino County, from 100-year-old head-pruned vines in sandy loam soils.

Vinified in the signature CDC method of open air fermentation, 18-month in-barrel maturation on lees and racked once before bottling. CDC wines don't receive any additives or undergo any filtration or fining during the winemaking or bottling process.

This wine displays classic Carignan aromas of fresh tobacco, currants and freshly cut wood, with a palate characterized by firm tannins, black currants and forest floor.
